Parents you are all aware of the "child ski boot issue"!
You take the time to shop around, fit ski boots for little one, discuss price with shop owner,,,,then several months down the road the boots do not fit!
Children grow up so fast that you can not keep up! Some clothing actually have "adjustments" that make pants longer/larger!

Here is truly a unique and new solution to the too small ski boot problem.
Roces, an Italian ski boot company has come out with "an expandable" ski boot for children. The cost that was given to me was $65 US!

Here is how it works.
There are three ski boot shell sizes for specific foot range sizes. You have a small key which you can insert into the boot sole just under the ankle area! This key activates a rail system which makes ski boot "longer"! Thus as child's foot gets bigger you just turn key one turn and boot gets bigger!
The liner has a special section which allows it to expand with shell!

I will be testing three such boots on 3,4,5 year old kids this winter ( once I get units)! I will give you updates. It will be fun to see how these boots work! These kids will become my youngest ski testers and all I have to pay them is a chocolate bar and hug!

If you wish to visit site for info see; roces-snow.com.
This is not a commercial note since I am not associated with company! This is given as "a point of interest" for parents.

I calculated that you could have same boots for at least 4-5 years depending on growth pattern! The positive side of these boots is not only cost but also learning context! Like all skiers it takes time to adjust to new boots! Children learn on boot A, then must change to boot B! They do not know why the skiing seems "different" due to new boots! Like us,, they must relearn to use new boots!

Hope this hlps some skiing parents.

Now that's a good idea.

Adjustable sizing has been available for several years on kid's inline skates. No coincidence that Roces is also an inline skate maker.

My daughter has used Salomon and Rollerblade extendable skates. The salomon were excellent and lasted three years. Which begs the question, Why Roces and not Salomon ?
