On a trip to Hamburg my mate bought a hot dog and said "thankyoushun" and meant it!

My wife is Scottish and never called anyone Jimmy in her life, and no one north of the border actually says och aye the noo.

They do, however, have a very interesting language all of their own in Aberdeen. It reminds me of the old bloke on Dads Army (Ian will know which one I mean) who famously did the Walkers Crisps adverts:
"You'll no be havin a sale will ye?"
