different trip. it does highlight what a good deal ski carriage is though, for the weight much cheaper than an excess baggage charge, it's pretty disgraceful that bikes or golf or ski kit will be carried at a good price and mountaineering gear won't be though, a complete scam :evil:
I'm not sure that I can agree with you on the good deal point. It's unfair that mountaineering kit is not classed as sporting equipment though. Some carriers are now charging more for ski carriage than their owner pays for a trip in the cabin. For example ryanair charges £50 return for a pair of skis. On top of that, weight restrictions can be put on ski kit. In past winters, I have seen, " ski bag at no more than 6 kilos" in the small print for one carrier (I can't remember which one), so that would rule out some of my skis and bindings as too heavy, heaven knows what you are meant to do with your poles :?:
