What did you go for?

Fischer Cruzar Fire Allround Carving ski with Rs9 bindings. I got them online for 180 Euros, new. These seem to fit my skill level which is now beginner - intermediate and are apparently relatively forgiving and easy to turn with. I'm going into a sports shop in Munich next week to buy boots as I won't dare by those online.

I just got new boots. Dalbello Rampages. They still need a few tweaks but overall I quite like them.

Fischer Cruzar Fire: 114-71-100

Interesting looking ski, fun side cut and even a bit of rocker. You will have to let us know how the ski, look a great option for progressing on.

Don't buy boots online, but even in the shop when they measure your feet and bring you some boots to try in that size, ask to try those boots in a size smaller too. Shops tend to put beginners/intermediates in boots that are too big for them, to avoid looking for new boots soon see if you can size down. Most of the time you can and sometimes even by more than one size.

Hi Verbier,

Thanks for the advice. The sports store I intend to go to have promised that as with all ski boots purchased from their store, I am allowed to continue returning for boot adjustments free of charge until they fit perfectly. They suggested that I can either take the boots as they are and ski with them for a couple of days and then take them back for adjustments or try an adujstment first and then try them and come back if I need to. I know that the liner will compress too, so I will go for as snug as possible while being comfortable and then see how I go from there.

Yes thats what I was hoping for: something at the right level to progress with and be able to turn easily. I can't remember what I skied on the last time I hired skis but they looked and felt similar. Let's see how they go :)
