I must say I am shocked with the weather conditions here in Finland. Just few days ago we finally received snow. Now it is melting fast! I remember we used to have very cold winters in early 80's. I went skiing when it was even -25 to -30 in northern Finland. I live in Hel(l)sinki now and I see the snow melting. Just unbelievable..

I haven't seen snow here (South coast of England) for getting on for ten years. :( - I make do with the lovely pictures on the internet.

Visited Lapland in December it was -4 lots of snow around.But everyone told me that it is getting warmer every year.

Winters are definately getting milder. I live in N Ireland and I remember as a child not being able to get to school because of a foot of snow on the main roads. We used to have really high snow drifts up the garage walls and would have to dig the car out. My uncle even built me an igloo once! :)

The British weather is the pants,I live in Yorkshire and we used to get lots of the white stuff and now theres nowt as we say.

skigirl didnt n.ireland just get covered in a foot off snow ,or was that just the bbc again.i do agree though just going back to the 1980s below freezing was normal winter weather just 30 miles north off london.

Just got back from Levi ( Finnish Lapland )
And the snow was fantastic snowed pretty much everyday. Fresh powder on the slopes every morning.
Temps where random though some days -2 and then -20 the next.
