Didn't realise when we booked the flights that the ski bus goes in the afternoon and we arrive first thing in the morning! This now means we either pay for a very expensive taxi or drive! has anybody out there done this drive and if so whats it like - very nervous!!!

Yes, airport would be a good info. I have done an extensive survey on rental vs taxi for our trip to Alta Badia on 26 of Jan. Let me know if you need help.

If you are flying to Venice, the distance is be around 180 km, not bad.

You can go to Val di Fassa websites, and find information on taxi or other transfer options. There are a lot of private companies doing this type of transfer. Most respond to emails right away, so you can get quotes and compare. Taxi companies around where you will stay might be a good option. But my guess is car rental would be cheaper in all cases.

We have been thru the same decision last week to go from Munich to Alta Badia, much longer drive then yours. We ended up renting a minivan to be more flexible..hope it helped..
