Hi weve decided on Les Gets after a lot of deliberation and are now in the process of booking up - has anyone any reccs for airport transfers/taxis and car hire costs for either a week car hire or return transfers costs - also I seem to recall something called Alpi bus which is a bit like a bus service does this cover geneva- les gets and if so how much would that be? Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

:Dhimerry xmas and a happy new year.
if you go to the geneva airport home page at www.gva.ch on the left hand side you will see some tabs,go to the one that says Access,Transportation,Accommadation then to Public Transfer then to Ski Resorts (click on this),you will then see a page with French Ski Stations-Aeroski-bus,this is accompanied by a pdf link that will show you all the routes, timetables and fares to various resorts in the alps that are accessable from geneva airport. There is also www.satobus-alps.com,www.alpski-bus.com and wwww.altibus.com that can help.
If you are looking to hire a car (transfer time of around an hour or so depending on traffic and weathr) i would suggest Autoeurope 0800 169 9797,this is a company with offices in manchester but are actually based in maine, new england and will provide car hire cheaper than going direct to the car hire companies themselves, the last car i hired (fiat punto) through autoeurope with europcar was £134 but if i had hired direct from europcar would have been £189.Also if you hire a car from the swiss side at geneva it will come with snow tyres and also may include chains aswell, when hiring from the french side this is not the case.
i hope some of this is of help to you and wish you all the best for your trip
many regards

Hi - have a great time in Les Gets, I've just been looking at the webcams & it looks lovely this year. We've been quite a few times & use www.alp-line.com who have always been very friendly & efficient. Obviously a minibus transfer is the most convenient option, but not usually the cheapest so I think it depends on what your priorities are.
This year we're giving Samoens a try - & only 22 sleeps to go!!

I have been to les Gets the last two years and I an sure you will have a great time. The first time we drove from England. Last year we did a transfer with
http://www.alp-line.com/ I would certain recommend them . They usually have an English speaking driver to pick you up. This year we are going to Oz en Oisans and have hired a hire car from Geneva airport from http://www.auto-europe.co.uk/
