Hi everybody 8)
We are planning to buy a new ski set for my wife . But we do not have any experience with Dynastar &lange equipment but we want to try it. :)
She is a intermediate to advanced skieer and we all used common brands such as rossignol and salomon . Any particular model-set advice would be appreciated
thanks in advance

My freestyle ski is a dynastar, what type of skiing do you enjoy doing? Piste/off piste preference, speed, difficulty of piste skiing enjoyed, moguls blah blah blah, despite "all round skis" its better if you can get a ski specifically suited to your preferences.

had a pair of lange boots until recently, couldn't fault them, only changed because they were getting on a bit, as for Dynastar, I have a pair of twin tips and they are also good news, but my recommendation would be to try a few different makes / styles and choose what your wife feels most comfortable with. As opposed to buying Lange / Dynastar because of the brand.
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

I recently spent a day and a half testing Dynastar Exclusive Legend Powder, in Zermatt. This is a womens' specific ski, and I really enjoyed them. Conversely, 3 winters ago I tested Dynastar 4800's and loathed them, flappy, damp, dismal things!

Your wife needs to test lots of different skis before you buy. As for boots, go find a good bootfitter, and trust their judgement. Avoid aiming for one brand over another, as it's important to buy what works for her. :D

BTW Dynastar and Lange have been around a long time. I had Dynastar skis in the late 80's, and around the same time my OH had Lange boots!

cayhan,

All ski companies and boot companies have great products. The challenge is to find a product that "fits" your wifes skiing ability and your desire to pay a set price!

One minor warning. The Dynastar skis are owned by Rossignol which was recently bought by Quick Silver! A huge huge recreational oriented umbrella company.

Rumors are that the ski ( Dynaster) may be sold in coming years! I know for sure they are NOt going to produce World Cup race skis in 2008! They will follow the K2 ski company in focusing their products on the "new school" skiers with twin types, extreme off piste skiing and the "rails"!

That does not reduce the quality of the skis,,in fact I suspect that you will see a "dumping" of these skis in the coming years!

As far as Lange boots,,they are know as "narrow" shelled boots,,so if wife has narrow feet go ahead a buy!

I have been wearing Lange Boots for a few years now and I am very pleased with them. As other people have mentioned go to an expert boot fitter and see what boots they reccomend for your wife. The fit of the boot and ability range they are meant for (plus price) are more important than the brand name.

Thanks to all answers
I did not think that buying a ski set would be that hard especially for women. Probably buying a boot is more important and difficult compared to chosing a ski. I will add our experience as soon as we ckoose some equipment.
Since There is not any negative feedback regarding dynastar^lange we may consider them.
happy season to everybody.. )
