I'm a single person looking for a 4-5 night ski trip end of March/first weekend of April, and am finding it impossible to get transfers anywhere which don't cost about 4 times the flight price. Would consider car hire but the parking is so pricey it doesn't seem any better.

I am looking at any (reasonably high altitude) ski area, leaving from all London airports. There seem to be plenty of good deals on week-long packages but I can only take 3 days off work.

Any tips on how to find something? I don't have a particular budget in mind, just don't want to pay 75% of the trip cost in transfers!

You right as a single traveler iv had the same problem. I was looking two weeks ago on interactive resorts and stranglly there were several short holiday in 3/4 days. One of these or a short holiday with someone else could be a good option . Good luck.

Come to Soldeu, Andorra. Fly to Barcelona, Novatel bus from Terminal to your hotel, 75 Euro return.

You could try Obertauern. 64 euros return from Salzburg. It is only an hour from the airport so if you get an early flight, you could be skiing by midday. The resort is high by Austrian standards too and has got reliable snow. If you send an accommodation booking request through their website, you can get some good deals.

Chamonix is by far the most convenient resort in Alps to get to. Transfer will be 25 euro each way with any of the many transfer companies.
