Hello
I am new to the forum
I would like to take my 2 grand kids...strong intermediate skiers... to ski in Canada for their school break December 8-13
Any suggestions of where there would be snow then? We are in the Toronto area but would fly
Joan

Early December ( especially this year with the Strong El Nino ) can be a bit of a gamble for making plans ahead of time. Many resorts opening date in a good year is sometime in the first two weeks in December depending on conditions.

The least risky alternative is a short flight to Calgary, Rent a car, stay in Banff. From your hotel in Banff, you can easily access Sunshine, Lake Louise or Norquay.

Sunshine, because of it's altitude will be the safest bet. In fact, few years back, my wife and I stayed the the Sunshine Mountain Lodge ( http://www.sunshinemountainlodge.com/ ) and quite enjoyed it. You pack your bags up the Gondola and stay on the mountain, just meters from the ski lifts.

Many resorts may be open and fully functional by mid December, but this is a safest bet I'd place.
