Maybe just a little more

Most manufacturers do not ship 1'/1'. For instance all Volkl skis are shipped with an 2' side bevel. As for carving, 87 degree side bevel is pretty standard. You can carve on 1'/1', but it's not ideal.

As for scaring people that they will wreck their edges with an 87 degree side bevel, that's just not true. If you refiled back to 89 from 87 degrees, you would need a micrometer to see how much edge you had lost. Definitely nothing to worry about.

BTW I have never said that I ski much other than on piste, and I don't talk about stuff I don't do nearly every day, for four, or five months of the year.

The real issue here is that there are often different views on any subject. Trashing someone, however subtly, because you disagree is just going to cause arguments.
