Marco's vid bar by any chance ???

Normally if you get a group like that Livigno is a big enough town to hide them.

No, it was the Cow related bar where you have to get a lift down to the toilets, which you may well know  (no, I don't mean the toilets before you ask)

I don't know but it must be the The Bivio hotel disco, if I'm wrong PM me as I now need to know 8)

Hi You will have a fantastic time in Soldeu.
Lots of good Bars and nearly all the resturants are good cant really think of a bad one and I have eaten in all of them during my season there. I would suggest always booking though as they get very busy.
If your in the Sport I would imagine your half board?

Gondola is right oposite the Sport so you should be fine.
Pub in the Lift station(The Villager) is probbaly the worst one to use as its one of those really fake style with bad service.

Fat Alberts is usually best for Apres Ski and has a good resturant underneath.

Aspen is quite lively its the one most of the Locals use (Instructors etc) has pool tables upstairs and has major spot events on.

Both Fat Alberts and Aspen have live music most nights.
The Avalanche was always a good evening but I believe its shut down now.
T-Bar where the Snowboarders hang out is a nice little bar.

Further down the road towards Tarter the Roc is worth a look when they have live music, alos Borda del Rector Catalan food really nice and further into El Tarter the Llop Gris is good for a nice meal and a must is the Hotel Alba resturant run by a guy called piers. They will collect you and drop you back to Soldeau if you book.
Just ask in the Aspen and they can usually call and arrange this.
For Lunch times if your meeting a non skier i would ski down or lift down to the resturant just down from the Station you can see it to the left as you come down think its called the Sol I Neu. Nice outside terrace on a warm day. Good food.Other than that there is a nice one over towards Grau Roig by the frozen lake.
Im sure you will have a great time and good choice for large mixed group.

Probably best to keep your goggles on when they start doing the squeezing competition.

jonah690, many thanks for taking the time to write all that out, I really appreciate it. Yes we are on half board, but only because certain deals made it easier for us to package rather than do it all ourselves as usual. However, that will not prevent us from using the town restaurants most of the time, as we prefer to try various options rather than be stuck in a single place.

Are non skiers allowed up the gondola, and if so can they have lunch at the top? Failing that I am also assuming they will be able to travel to the other local towns (ie El Tartar) where we can meet them for a bit of variety.

Ohh Groan..

OK, I get it now.

I had visions of an event involving hordes of voluptuous chalet girls. Of course that part may still be correct if they fail to scrub properly

I find it works best with a Spanish accent (think Manuel from Fawlty Towers)

Edit - Of course if Mr Admin is reading this, then it does refer to the fact that the furthest lift queue is usually the shortest and hence the one to join
