That my friend is an extremely good point.

If you stay at the Gansleit instead of any of the village hotels, you can at least ski across the field back to the hotel at night.

We are staying at the HOTEL POSTWIRT so our watering holes are yet to be discovered as we are new to the town. But thanks for the information it all helps when you get there, dont waste time etc.

Sorry SF, missed the Postwirt bit ~ interesting place, good hotel built out of the Posthof. Heaps of history, and played it's part in the defence of Tirol against the French. Very similar set up as the Posthaus in Brenner.

Sorry, I digress, and cannot help with water holes.

Do visit the church though.

hi scarlet just to let you know we are a group of 20 adults and range in ages from 21-44 and have been to soll on 5 ocassasions and would highly recomend it.the waterholes you require are the salven stahl at the cross roads on the way down from the gondalla excellent music and great bar staff.the one nearest to where you will be staying is the whiskey muller again great bar staff but the salven has live music every day and a bbq every day as you can imagine beer and food a very good value.
hope this helps you,
enjoy your holiday. :-) :-) :-)

Mikei, Many thanks for taking the time to give a brief about Soll.Everything helps. Till we get our barings where would you suggest that we head for on the mountain on the first day to get away from any potential crowded bits and where we can try and remember what to do since last year. Seriously we are all competent on our skis so anywhere will do and we do eventually like to cover as much as we can. Any favourite mountain restaurants, especially if some are very busy we are prepared to head for where its quieter.
Your suggested watering holes have beeb seen and noted. Obliged. )
From local knowledge is there anywhere that might be showing the Heineken rugby as there are important final group matches on the Sat/Sun 23rd,24th of January. Even if they show the games delayed as live for our Apres-ski. We have a Scarlet and a Tiger in our group.

Stayed in the Eggerwirt last year. It's a realy nice hotel with nice food and staff. Only about a 3 minute walk into town and the bus stops right outside which you get on by showing your lift pass. Would recommend as mentioned previously leaving your stuff at the top then walk back stopping at the Hexenhalm bar which is halfway down. Really good apre ski with a top Austrian DJ. Would deffo go back there.. Have fun...

A day without Ski's on is a day wasted.
