So, lets get this sad, snow depressing time out of our thoughts
for a while. I read about snow sure in some descriptions and then the
advice of reliable snow falls above certain heights.
What months are the most reliable in Europe?
Scandinavia or Europe?

Too much chocolate eaten

http://ski.ruka.fi/slopes/?id=382&area=ruka I know for sure Finland/Lapland resorts usually start in November and finish mid June, they clain to have the longest season. They certainly have more snow there now than when I was there in January and that was the most snow I have ever seen then.

In Canada, LM is in one of the best locations for E-O-S dependable snow --- Sun Peaks in British Columbia. People I know that have seen this first hand as well as other areas for comparison are the first to say so! But check before you travel

Vincentus,

Have you skied much at Falls Creek in your part of the world?

I've met people here in NS that have skied there. A small world

Once the mountains have gone through the full cycle and green has replaced white I'm fine I can view the beauty again though a new set of eyes and happily spend a week of my summer holiday playing in the mountains, till that time I'm depressed........
I dont enjoy the mountains at all until there is snow on them, I am afraid. Therefore this time of year is depressing, although I will forget it for a short time when the times comes to take 2 weeks in the sun, and on those lazy Friday evenings when the beer garden is still warm enough to i sit out in. But I long for the early winter snowfalls again.

Tony, just like my OH. I am dying to go to the mountains either spring-time or Autumn, I fancy a walking holiday, but he wont entertain it. If the mountains dont have snow on them he does'nt want to know.

Quite right. Walking, biking....etc? No thanks. You can keep your lovely summer time mountains. I will return with the white stuff. Hes a sensible bloke.

Rose, how about somewhere like the Moab in Utah ? OH could put on his Imperial Trooper outfit and pretend he is hunting Luke Skywalker and sand people on Tatuin, while you walk and enjoy the the scenery.
