okay, so here's how I see it. I haven't got the time or the money to search out these hidden gem villages that are most probably well worth the effort so I book mainstream TO. When leafing through the brochure the only thing that jumps out of the page about French resorts is the cost. I'm sure that the skiing is superb but if I want to sleep in a car park in the middle of winter I can do that quite well at home thank you very much. This is why I mostly go to Austria, the resorts seem much more human if that makes sense. I do think the French people suffer from an image problem in much the same way the as Americans do, and if you visit places like Paris you're you're bound to get the impression that they're rude, but is that any different from people in London or New York? Probably not. I'm sure that France is very nice, it must be because it is the number one destination for UK skiers with Austria 2nd so perhaps it's not so bad after all
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

Public speaking apparently doesn't feature highly as a key skill in the GOP

it looks like there may be a "palinisms" book out soon. but, in the meantime...

"when I was coming up, it was a dangerous world, and you knew exactly who they were. it was us versus them, and it was clear who them was. today we are not so sure who the they are, but we know they're there."
