Apparently so... Firefox, Safari and Opera all showing the smilies just fine on Vista; IE on XP is fine, IE on Vista shows some but not all... please write to thank Bill personally and wish him a happy retirement...
Has anyone got dodgy smilies who is not[b] using Internet Explorer and Windows Vista?
I dunno, Ross wants excitement... how exciting is flaky smilies?
Another carefully considered and entirely logical theory lies in tatters

I wonder if there is a glitch with Vista and Internet Explorer (I know, that would be as rare as hens teeth but you never know), but really I'm having no problems on a Vista pc using Firefox.
My personal  with Vista is the way it updates the machine while it's being used and then does a restart regardless.
That's okay Bill...it was nothing important really, feel free to override my work with your software

I'm on Vista and IE and all they smilies are happy :D
If you're seeing a red cross instead of a smilie then try putting the pointer on top of it, pressing the right mouse button and then select properties. The Address(URL) should be something like http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum//images/smilies/1069449046bcd664c21db15b1dfedaee.gif
Having said that, is it right that there's two slashes between forum and images Dave?
[The two slashes is fine, but your URL was missing the .gif - fixed for you now, all part of the usual (crap) service. You're welcome, mister happy smiley man... Admin]

Smilies on IE7/Vista should be fixable by doing the following :-
Thanks to smirnoffskier for that tip. 8)
Try pressing Ctrl and F5 at the same time on your keyboard. This deletes the page cookies and refreshes the screen. Its just worked for my smilies.

My Smilies seem to be working fine most of the time, though I have noticed that occasionally, they do not seem to work on new messages .
However,I do seem to be experiencing another glitch - when I login, the system will not allow me to reply to some messages. When I click on these messages, the system takes me to the message but does not recognise that I am signed in and so does not accept replies :x. Any explanations and/or solutions?
