Do Glaswegians say things differently?

ISTR.."See you Jimmy" being a Glasgow saying.

I think it's also the spiritual home of the Deep Fried Mars Bar 8)

We don't use "ken" or "like" frequently over here in Glasgow. Although I don't actually live IN Glasgow i'm a half hour on the train.

What have I blundered into here?
It's only a slope.

.......and they say "I stay in Edinburgh" instead of "I live in Edinburgh". I always assumed they means they borrowed someones house to stay in, or something.

Oh, and the home of the deep fried mars bar, I believe, is Dundee. I suppose the miserable place has to be famous for something other than jute, timex watches, and The View.

BTW, an absolute biatch trying to get out of the country today - A1 shut near Dunbar, railway line closed, landslides, flooding, majorly bad weather............and its August for heavens sake! I ended up on some backroad trying to get away from the 5 mile queue of standing traffic, and driving through 2 feet of water running off the fields onto the lanes, with rubble and lumps of tarmac lifting up and floating away. I ended up in a place called Cockburnspath, before finding the A1 again north of Berwick, and behold the joy of the sign which said "Welcome to England".

Home, again. Thank God.

Nothing to do with Dundee.

The first place in Scotland to sell them was a place in Stonehaven but it was actually the Australians who invented them.
