I met with a lovely 84 year old ski instructor in the Penken Gondola in Mayrhofen last year. I was also overtaken in Sestriere by a skier my instructor assured me was 94! I'll be impressed if I can still walk at that age, let alone ski! :shock:

An inspiration to all you adolescents.
At a recent industry conference an man called Klaus Obermeyer was interviewed!
Here is a "sample" of this 90+ year old skier;
You recently turned 92. What drives you?
If you're physically in good condition and you work out, life can be very good until a late age. I do all of this because it's fun. To ski is fun. To swim is fun. To bike is fun. If you can combine working out everyday with something that's fun instead of being in a gym, then what a lucky thing that is. It feels good to be healthy.
Do you plan on slowing down?
No. I wouldn't know what to do if I slowed down.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to ski everyday when they are 92?
Don't eat more than you burn off. Try to figure out what kind of food works well for you and is easily digestible, and drink lots of water. And stay active. You can still build muscles when you're my age, but you lose them faster if you don't use them.
Just don't eat too much and keep changing what you eat. It'll be more enjoyable.
So you never have a good beer anymore?
Very rarely. Coming from Bavaria originally, I think it's a sin though. They raise their babies on beer instead of milk. But water is the best thing you can drink.
Note the stress on fun!
If you ever ski with him,,,or see him ski you will notice that broad smile !
That is the secret,,,,to have fun !
One hint ,,,,while all the younger skiers are away trying to make money,,,who is on the slopes?
Live to ski,,,,,,Ski to live !
