Hi all,

I'm into minimising the amount of gear I own.

Has anyone got experience skiing with the Giro Encore, POC Receptor+ or Bern Brentwood?

All three claim to be certified and good for cycling and skiing.

Cheers

Tinpot,
this is your head, minimising for what? It cannot be weight, space or price.

Without delving into your suggested models, is the ski helmet made to Class EN 1077, and is it Class A or Class B?

ASTM F2040 / CE EN 1077 / CPSC.

No direct experience but I've had a few Giro bike lids and had a good look at a couple of POCs when looking for my current ski lid...

YMMV but I have the impression that Giro are designed down to a budget (nothing wrong with that - they're generally good value) but POC are designed up to a spec (you do get what you pay for).

If I was choosing between these I'd take the POC, no contest.

Most modern helmets are fairly adjustable for fit, but obviously make sure whichever model suits your head shape... 8)

I bought a POC Receptor Bug three years ago. From a skiing point of view, I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a goggle clip at the back of the helmet. Apart from that, I think it is a very good helmet.

"Goggle Clip included" now, apparently - http://www.pocsports.com/en/product/1211/receptor

The bug isn't for cycling as well though is it?

The Giros are pretty damn cheap, I should probably just buy one to try it.
