My son is 10years and wants to move to the dark side 'Snowboarding'. He can ski well. Happy on reds and some blacks. Is 10 a reasonable age. Also he always wears a helmet. Would it be advisable to buy him other protective gear ie wrist guards?

Hi,
From what I've read elsewhere I think 10 is probably about old enough to give the dark side a go. I'm a recent convert myself (although sadly a lot older than 10) and I've decided wrist guards are a must. Plenty of people will disagree and claim that it's more important to learn how to fall properly..no doubt that's right but it just takes one fall where you forget and there's your holiday ruined. They are n't expensive anyway..
