Also the sports HQ (search online) often has quite reasonable stuff at good prices.

Used it last week and it performed well.
Many shopping centres, high streets and outlets have Trespass shops.

I guess a lot of folks, like us, don't wear their ski wear from one year till the next. As a result it can pop up on ebay with little or no wear at a fraction of the new cost..

Even when it was -20C (-30C with windchill) last week in Tignes my legs and body weren't cold, and they seem pretty waterproof and breathable so the quality can't be too bad :)
