Okay a random question, but something I want to look into for myself and for the upcoming winter, but basically I want to know through peoples experiences what they would say are good things and bad things with the airport transfers both to and from the resort.

What can a Rep do to ensure a smooth journey to and from the airport, to cause as little disruption as possible for all involved.

Thanks for your feedback.

Leave you alone....seriously, after a 4am start, airport scrum, flight, airport scrum again, all I want is a snooze. All the reps I have come across seem to have it pretty much sorted in that respect! Tended to have greeted us onece on the coach, gone up and down everyone, passed out any lift passes, paperwork, etc needed then left us to get on with the journey.

Other than that, another scott round as you get towards resort, answers any questions and so on. Someone who knows the resort well is invaluable - you don't want to get the newbie who's just moved there from another resort and is as lost as you are!!
Up there for thinking, down there for skiing...

Toilet stops when the coach driver has locked the on board one to save cleaning it later & you find you 2hr transfer is now 3.5 hrs due to diversions. Top Tip don't join in the beer drinking till you know that the loo on board is usable

Snow & piste conditions

Tell the truth at all costs, a little white lie on the coach to the resort destroys all trust, if its a twenty minute walk to the hire shop say that. not sugar coating it.

Dont let passengers throw their ski bags into the carrier on the back of the bus, get the rep/driver to organise this. Some people think its ok to throw their ski bags in and not worry about anyone elses. I always seem to end up taking all the bags out and repacking. Not what you want at 4am when its minus 10 really.

Think ahead: What are you going to do when things go wrong? We were with our three young children when our Bergamo flight was rescheduled to Milan. The reps were useless. No food. More importantly, no water - The reps didn't seem to think it was their problem. They took the "What a surprise? who'd have thought?" attitude. Muppets.
At least once in a season there will be a crisis: so plan ahead. If there's a big delay then how are you going to get people water and food? etc.
