Quote Topic I am torn between a number of skis. I want a ski that carves well, can hold its own on in the park occasionally, and floats in the pow too. I ski mostly k2 with trips all over spain and to the alps as well. I'm looking at the Moment PB&J(dont know if its posible ti buy them in spain), , armada tst , line influence 105 and line blend (probably in that order) but open to other ideas. I'm a very aggressive skier, 5'9? 190 pounds and try to get off the trail to find trees and cliffs as much as possible. My current skis are k2 public enemies (169) a have them for four years ( love them but way to easy right now, need way more power and an advance ski. what are your thoughts? thank you very much. european measurements [code]180cm 85 kg

Atomic Alibi? These are what I'm opting door. Fall Line Ski of the year.
This is from Edge and Wax's website:

Due to the overriding success of the Atomic Theory last year atomic have really concentrated on this side of thier skiing and have tried to improve their all mountain freestyle range. The Alibi is a new ski for Atomic for the 2012/13 season and is wider than the Theory allowing better float in the powder, but this has not affected the on-piste performance.

This ski has outstanding smoothness thanks to the optimized absorption in the rocker area, yet it remains easy to control with very reliable edge grip. All skis in Atomics all mountain vantage range provide extreme responsiveness with great ease of use and really inspire confidence in all that ski it.

Last year the Theory won ski of the year thanks to its all mountain prowess and an extremely competitive pricepoint. They have kept all this going with the Alibi, but made it more versatile with a 98mm waist that you can still carve - how could this not win the ski of the year!

SKI SPECIFICATION
Geometry: 130mm / 98mm / 119mm
Turn Radius: 19 metres at 180cm
Terrain: All mountain / Powder
Core Material: Woodcore
Camber/Rocker: All mountain rocker
Technology: Step down Sidewall with Ti Backbone
Bindings: Skis Only

SKI FEATURES
All mountain rocker:
This is a 65% camber underfoot with the first 20% lifted in the nose and 15% lifted in the tail. This mix allows the ski to still hold its edge very well on piste when engaged, but the tip is high enough to sit up in new snow and allows great float and easy turn initiation. This set up allows for a very versatile ski.

Step down Sidewall Woodcore Titanium Backbone:
The extremely durable sidewall construction below the binding ensures optimum absorption, while the Backbone and Woodcore maximizes the power flow and therefore improves edge grip. Vibrations in the Rocker area are effectively dampened by the Backbone. Plus its shape allows for effortless turning thanks to consistent rigidity and performance. Extreme smoothness and exceptional dynamics are the hallmarks of the titanium version.

"We had perfect conditions for this ski when we were testing late last season and had so much fun on this ski that we are ranking it up there as one of the best all mountain power houses that we have ever skied on. For being 98mm underfoot it had extraordinary edge hold and could be carved easily, all-be-it on long sweeping arc turns."

"When on the firmer snow it remained nice and stable no matter what was happening to the snow underfoot. This is probably the most all mountain orientated of the skis, allowing perfect float in powder, yet great edge hold when on hardpack."

IS IT FOR ME?
In our opinion this is one of the most versatile skis around for the 2012/13 season and so would be ideal for a advanced to expert skier who is not quite sure what the conditions would allow and wants something that will cover all options.

Check out Salomon Shogun Ski Review. Have a pair mounted with touring bindings and no complaints. I think you would find a fair bit better in trees than the Atomics. The ski very narrow but are good even when gets deep. Skied them from steep hard pack to thigh deep and zero complaints.

I also like the look of the rocket 108. This is probably next offpiste ski I will get.
