Hi
New to the forum :)
I'm looking to book a European based trip for Feb 2013. Top most of the criteria is a hotel with an outdoor hot tub. I've done the usual Google search but it really only shows hotels with a hot tub, not specifically an outdoor one.
Anyone got any recommendations? Or even heard of / seen hotels with a hot tub outdoors?
TIA
John

Perfect logic. Key to any ski trip is not really resort, weather or snow conditions. Friends, good food and good wine far more important. Adding in a hot tub sounds perfect.

Ranchero,
"Key to any ski trip is not really resort, weather or snow,,,,,"
Why then go skiing?
Why then go on ski site?
Friends, good food, good wine, good spa I can get anywhere and I have them .
Great ski conditions,,,,that mother nature "rewards me".
Sorry but I disagree. A SKI trip is to ski first. Then perhaps other matters as secondary to skiing.
As a passing note. Did you all know that more people die in spas and hot tunes than while skiing? Seems they do not wear their helmets while,,,,,,!
Seriously Ranchero wine more important than a great run down +40 cm. of soft powder ?

lol, maybe my mind is too simplistic. For me I couldn't care where I am when skiing, always have fun, hard pack, slush, powder enjoy skiing them all. Yes more than happy when the big dumb comes and will even actively seek them out. Maybe too much skiing on small hills with wet snow, limited daylight in Norway, or dry slopes in UK as a kid. No snow snobbery here, I ski, climb, walk, bike every day I can regardless of conditions. 1st bus to lift even when seems little hope of opening. Worst case you get a croissant and coffee :-). Never had a bad days skiing, never intend to. Bad weather=early lunch, great weather=late lunch, packed snow go carving, powder snow go crazy. Whatever day brings will always be a +ve, hence my whole life is pretty much planned around maximum ski time, even recently took a job in Iraq because guarantees 8 weeks skiing a year ?.
Hence am sure whichever resort they choose, there will be something on ground and they will be able to exaggerate speeds, jumps, face plant etc. Hopefully for them in a hot tub with good wine. Best days skiing is always the one you just had. Best foot forward, no reminiscing about Jan 2012 and the monster dumps, although long range is looking very promising.
Above does not apply to Megeve which I have a hate hate relationship with. Could have been related to rain and animal pasture type slopes hence not strictly skiing activity (more farming and singing in rain). 1 morning only :-).

We stayed in the Les Arcs 1950 apartments in 2011. There was a swimming pool and also jacuzzis for use by the guests. Unfortunately it was more of a tepid tub than a hot tub. The outdoor pool was also very cool. Spent about 10 minutes in it on our 1st day and then gave it up as a bad job.
The steam room was an interesting experience. ...as was the group of women wandering around with no clothes on. I did wonder if we'd found our way into some kind of "special" section of the resort at that point.

You might want to choose a ski resort which is also a Spa town. Leukerbad for example, has many thermal baths. It's possible to have your breakfast served floating :D
