Well, where do I begin (to quote the line from a famous song lyric)
Not often prone to expressing negativity but after my latest snow update I am a) furious b) incredulous and c) disappointed

Furious because the posted report is apparently a work of fiction at worst or at best has not been updated for weeks.

Incredulous that J2Ski would freely supply information that at best is biased in favour of the resort, or at worst an invention to encourage people to last minute book at a resort with spare beds but no/poor snow.

 :(

Disappointed in that it appears to be near impossible to get accurate reports of snow conditions in a given resort.

For many years I had to travel at peak times and therfore I had to accept high prices and the snow conditions that nature threw at me. I am now in a lucky position of being able to go when I want ot and when conditions are at their best. Being told that my chosen resort is reporting 'powder' when the temps in the alps have been sky high for almost a week and there has been no snow in the area fot a fortnight is galling.

By all means give us a snow report update but for goodness sake make it accurate!

Always disapointing when conditions don't live up to expectations.

But it would have been helpful if you had mentioned the resort in question.

I have known pretty much what to expect for some time now by looking at snow reports, weather forecasts, what lifts/runs are open and webcams. So much better than relying on the weekly snow report in the Sunday papers!

Don't forget J2Ski relies on syndicated reports - which is why holiday and skiing reports from users out in the mountasins or just back are always so welcome.

Via Lattea.
Sauze

I have not gone yet, but the reports seem to be a work of fiction. A wet suit would appear to be appropriate at the moment.

For the reports you mention I'd agree. We're looking into this and have passed your feedback onto our supplier, so hopefully we'll have some updates shortly.

We do provide as many webcams as we can find, to add to the information available.

We also encourage everyone to report conditions but for some reason they seem to forget about it when they've gone skiing...

Well I'm going to Sauze on Saturday & have just sent James at sauzeonline an email for an update of conditions there, unless I here something different from him I'm leaving the snorkel & flippers in the case. 8)

I've been looking at the forecasts & snow quantities at this resort & it doesn't change from the last good report, so I don't think they want you to know the bad news so as to keep the resorts populated

That sucks.

Please take a tape measure and report back daily!

It does look as if things will be cooling off (a lot!) into next week so hopefully your wetsuit won't see too much action...

Brooksy, keep us updated please. Sadly, my last visit to Sauze was spolit by poor conditions AND they moved it around at night to vary the runs. If yoou took a left at that tree yesterday.......grass today and the snow has been used to top up elsewhere! Mind you that was 1983.
I hope things improve, as it stands it looks like a re-run of the rubbish experienced last year in Paradiski. Wet suit and snorkel are in my bags as are a lot of euro for beer as that would appear to be the only thing going well at the moment. Even the french resorts have elephant snot on the piste. 3 metres is no good if the top 300mm is slush. Sauze seems to have about 200mm of slush and rubble. Oh well, hired skis here we come and swallow the £30 carriage ri..... charge.
Still, it MIGHT snow and then the wet suit can be an insulation layer. Mind you then you will need crampons for the 80km hike to the lifts.....
