Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

Thanks for the update Andy. Pleased you had a good time, and hope you injured party is on the mend soon. I was there the week the week before you lot staying in Apartment Alpe 2000 just across the road from the Christina, great access to the lifts although often we skied from the apartment down to Les Bergers. Wall to wall sunshine all week, actually too hot. Snow by the end of the week a little crunchy in the morning and slushy in the afternoon - was pleased to see new snowfall for you on your arrival as it was needed. I agree with your comment 'Good resort if not great'. My nervous friends and I liked the green runs but I felt that there were hardly any easy blue progression runs for beginners. Perhaps if the snow had been better it would have opened up more. My husband skied all over the place but felt there were too many runs where the view didn't change much however he loved the Sarenne. Looking forward to seeing photos of your trip and hearing about the plans for 2017 !!

If the injured party wants to discuss surgery and rehab then there are plenty of us on here who have gone through the process.

Did it happen on Monday the 1st, complete snap city snow in Chamonix that day? Had I been the emotional type my skis may have been flung downhill. Instead I did multiple traverses of shame underneath a lift, with people no doubt nodding to each other and concluding 'that guys a fool'.

On the +ve knee will mend, however there are many things I would of done different on the rehab side. I was really quite dedicated and motivated and still didn't quite nail it. So if someone wants to know what I at least would of changed am more than happy to share. Whilst you obviously have to respect medical opinion, you also need to be conscious that what you would like your knee to be able to do is not necessarily coherent with their thinking. Am sorry to say there is a massive difference between average NHS physio and someone who routinely works with athletes (broadest sense).

Hi everyone,
I had a great week ski-ing with the group, and my only criticisms would be that the place was too crowded and that one day the snow turned to rain in the afternoon so that most of us got soaked and had to come in early!

But we did manage to find some quieter slopes (over the Scare Chair side) and a lunch Spot in the middle of the green runs maze, with practically no-one there except ourselves where we could eat and sunbathe in deckchairs with a lovely view of the mountains :)

A few of us booked with the British Ski club's new arrangements, where their reps have been replaced by fully qualified ski instructors (Italians as a matter of interest in our case) who took us down some difficult slopes and even off-piste on the last day. I fell over more times on the last day than during the entire preceding 2 weeks, and managed to ski down something so steep off-piste it nearly made me sick to look at, but dodged out of the final off-piste detour as I was too tired by then and apparently it was even steeper and more difficult than what we'd done already! The off-piste snow was frozen and icy on top but powdery underneath, sort of like cake icing, and I found it most confusing trying to ski on it.

I can confirm that The Sphere nightclub MAY be quite good. On the Monday 4 of us were "persuaded" to go and check out the town. That would be a 65 year old, 52 year old, 50 ish year old a 46 year old mad women and our 19 year old baby. All would have been fine if we hadn't had about 4 beers and a litre of white wine before 8. We saw the town, well one bar, and the ladies MADE us dance and drink far to much before we noticed that the other 200 people in the place had gone home and the staff were folding up the tables. We were "invited" to leave!! Can confirm that Toffee vodka is....well toffee vodka. Allegedly we played Snow Angels and had a massive snowball fight on the way back. All I can recall is that it was hammering down with snow and it was all uphill and seemed three times as far to walk back as it did to go there. We all made breakfast at 0730 though and skied all day. Just to confirm our nightmare we did it again on Wednesday. :D :D . It wasn't my fault !!
Carving leaves me all on edge
