Hi i am new to the forum and I am now residing in switzerland.
I learnt to ski from a colleague about 15 year ago last time i was here. I got the bug and my mrs and I went to the states for a 2 week holiday. I spent weeks choosing the right boots and used them for that holiday.
Since then, family arrived, cost , lack of opportunity etc so we never went again.
Now I am back in the area I am keen to start skiing again. My question is , will my old boots fit new skis or do I have to purchase a new set.
thanks

Bindings are adjustable to all boots, irrespective of age. Just as well. My boots and I celebrate our diamond wedding this winter! - )

Skis have changed A LOT. Most are easier to ski, but there are now many specialized skis for different niches in skiing. Best idea is to do a lot reading on the net. If you are getting back into it, an alround ski these days might have a 75 to 85 mm waist and 15 to 17 metre radius sidecut. If you intend to stay firmly on the groomed piste, a smaller waist will work. Maybe rent a few skis to see what you like.
because I'm so inclined .....

Hi Bluenatic, welcome to CH. The sales are on at the moment so you might pick up a bargain. The best places to try are the large sports chains such as Ochsner Sport and Athleticum. The DIY stores and the sports depts. in the supermarkets and department stores also sell skis. You could always rent until you find your feet again, for CHF 169 Ochsner Sport https://www.ochsnersport.ch/content/rent-ready will rent you a pair of basic skis for the rest of the season.
