Hi All
We are unable to get to Austria for our usual Feb ski trip and we now have to go in March. Looking at week of 17th. As it is late in the season any suggestions on where to stay? We need a catered chalet (mum needs a holiday too) and preferably high up so snow sure as it is so late.
Have been looking at Konigsleiten Zauchensee
thanks
Carol

We've skied Obertauern as late as end of April 3 times and they usually get there biggest dumps in March and it was always good, but it's a small resort compared to the big ones like Skiwelt. Solden is very high!

St Anton is open to the end of April. Usually good snow cover in March.

Here are some snowsure resorts:
Tignes, France
Saas Fee or Zermatt, Switzerland
Obergurgl or Kaprun Austria
Cervinia, Italy
Val Thorens, France
But you shouldn't really need to stick to the highest resorts for the third week in March, many many lower resorts will have plenty of snow too.
Still, I think, if you can leave it until the last minute, you might pick up a bargain and can go where the snow is.

You thought about Chamonix, France? High altitude - i've been in late April and had some great conditions. The resort closes in mid May, but only because they have to let the seasonal workers away, there is still snow then!
If you can get cheap flights to Geneva on Easyjet, it can save you a bit on the package holiday deals, and its only just over an hour from the airport.
