Last night it snowed a little more. For skiers coming from today they will find Granvalira with much better quality and quantity of snow. Unfortunately today is my last day of skiing in Soldeu and I can not send reports from the site any more.
My next resort this month will be Sierra Nevada. Rob?? |

I often ski at Sierra Nevada and I can give a brief.
I recommend avoid the weekends especially Saturdays. The ideal is to go no more than 3 or 4 days between Monday and Friday in January or early February. Never the last week of February. March is a good month, plenty of sunshine and long days. There are more than 100 km of slopes and if the snow condition is good Sierra is not a bad place.Good red runs and 3 very good blacks. I do not agree with Old Andy said to be comparable to Scotland. I have skied in Cairngorm and is not comparable. If you can go to the Alps or the Pyrenees do not miss the opportunity, but if you combine Granada, La Alhambra, Sierra Nevada is a good option. We skied last year until May 2 and the next day we went to the beach! Can you do that in Cairngorm? On a clear day you can see the Mediterranean from 3200m. Rob |
Megève is easy and well connected good for children and nice aprés ski.

Hi Robip, I been skiing in Sierra Nevada for several years so I know the area quite well. The site is : www.sierranevada.es
Week ends are packed also spanish holidays and last week in February. Monday to Friday is good skiing and no queues. It has 100 km of runs.Base is at 2500 meters heigh and you can go skiing easy up to 3000 meters. There is a big parking underground at the base near shops, ski rentals and restaurants and another one next tp the lift "Virgen de Las Nieves". Good luck Rob |
