Hi there
I don't think that any resort gets much closer than La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand - collectively known as the Aravis region. Under an hour (50 mins on a good day) from Geneva, and with over 220km of piste. Great for beginners and intermediates (advanced catered for with great off piste, but not too many black runs). We operate short breaks there of 3 or 4 days duration staying on catered chalet basis. Details of these can be found at http://www.skiweekender.com In terms of public transport - many of the airport buses only run on weekends and geared towards the Sat to Sat holidays, and not so good for short breaks. Always check for the "extra" costs of transfers with any package. Hope that helps Paul |
Fancy a short break of skiing??
This will be our 6th season offering Ski Weekender and Ski Midweeker trips to the beautiful Aravis Mountains and the resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand - and the popularity just keeps on growing. We offer long weekend ski trips from Thursday to Monday evening giving you 4 full days of skiing. Also on offer are the midweek Monday to Thursday trips with 3 full days of skiing, and taking advantage of the cheapest flights going. All of these are staying in our catered chalet (Aravis Lodge) and your package includes the transfers from Geneva (1hr), plus your full region lift pass as well as the full services of our Ski Team - with ski hosting, snow shoe walks etc. Find full details at http://www.skiweekender.com and see why people come back year after year for their skiing short break! Hope to see you this winter Paul |
I would also say that La Clusaz is an ideal resort to learn to ski and provides a perfect first experience of the Alps.
We can help with full week long trips in our chalet - details at http://www.karibuni.co.uk Also - If you are looking for a great value experience then maybe try a midweek package for just 3 days, or a long weekend for 4 days. You can get very cheap flights, a good value package and lots of support from our ski team - as well as a course of lessons to get you going. Details of all the short breaks can be found at http://www.skiweekender.com Whichever option you choose - I am sure you will love it and be hooked on a new passtime. Best wishes Paul |
