The best resort in Europe is Val Thorens, without question. It has access to the 3 valleys, plus is the only resort in the three valleys with direct access to Orrelle the so called fourth valley. Reliable snow, really nice mix of people, oh, and the old grotty architecture is being improved with pine cladding that makes it much better. We stayed in here http://www.valthorensapartment.eu/ last year, and would highly recommend it. The most amazing view I've ever had.
