Yes we have all survived another winter!
Yes we have now "let out all the skiing steam" and so it is the quiet period!
Well,,if you are reading this,,instead of being on the beach, golf course , or etc,,,,you are like me,,,,thinking of next year!
Here are some suggestions to make your summer shorter and your coming skiing season better!
1. Clean all skiing material! I mean really clean them! Look into those thousand pockets! I even found a crumbled $100 bill!
2. Now is the time to "modify" your equipment! An example will do! I ski to the very end ! I mean the very end when the sun is baking skiers, water is running down in streams and it is hot! I have a pair of ski pants that were made for spring skiing,,but the designers were not real skiers since they are still too hot!
I took inside seam out,,just below the crotch ( about 20 cm) and sewed in a "window" for cool air to,,,well cool the boys down! This is the same material you see inside shorts, or bathing truncks! White perforated material. Lets the cool air in but no snow can come in!
3. Found those thick ski gloves terrible in Sprin,,so I got some golf gloves, or some baseball gloves, or some mountain bike gloves! Thin, soft and great protection!
4. Hayerd to get wet wet snow into my boots, so I took some old old long sleeve shirts, cut sleeves off and just made some boot "collars"! Never will I have snow in my boots!
5. Hate having wires from my Ipod dangling all over! Made a thin cut into my jacket just below my collar, inserted Ipod jack,,,then placed jack in the inside pocket of the jacket! VoilĂ !
6.Time to get those ski boots out,,,get linners out! They need the sun to "cure"!!! That boot smell odor eaters works wonders!
7. Have you noticed how all ski outfits are using the "minimum" amount of velcro! Time to sew in widder. longer pieces, near pants cuff pants waist!
8. Speaking of velcro,,,,old velcro gets "tired"! The barbs do not hold as well! Change every 5 years!!
9. Time to really look at those boot buckles! Are they aligned! Are they wobbly! are the rivets holding well!
I have changed mine twice since they were poorly aligned for me! Wh wait till they fail!
10.Now for the most important ski equipment,,,,you! Do you remember the part of you body that hurt while skiing! Do you remember the part of the body which hurt 2 weeks after your last trip!
Now is the time to slowly work on this part of the body!
Oh,,,,Dave (the site guru) I did not forget your "special" flight on the new Bombardier plane!
You name is on the list when the plane comes to England!
Cheers,
Pavel

Dunno about the velcro ! Seems whenever I open my bag, everything comes out velcroed into one big mess - boots stuck to socks stuck to gloves stuck to boot gloves stuck to jacket etc.
because I'm so inclined .....

Trencher's Velcro problem!
Just a side note Trencher! All the velcro used in Kabul will be "changed" as of last week! Seems it does not work in "hot, dusty, dirty" places!!!!
Now as far as your problem,, I close all my velcro before placing in bag! Also I have a great carrying bag that has lots lots of pockets so; all gloves in one pocket, all survival items in another, all etc,,,, and so on!
As a secondary measure in all my outfits I install "military" type snaps over velcro so snow never goes up or in suit! All straps have snaps!
