Wickers, I don't recall saying I had a lack of taste. It's more about buying kit for it's function not colour or brand. I think you should change your post
Up at 7am....i'm on a mission.

Don't be so sensitive, it was only a joke, we all know really you have immaculate taste

Thats pretty much what people with no fashion sense usually say
Are you saying this from your own stance on fashion Tony?
Don't forget we have seen you skiing in all your finery and sartorial elegance [sic].

I reckon there's no such thing as 'good taste'. It's purely a myth to persuade us all to spend more money than we ought to by making us feel anxious and insecure if we buy anything that's 'out'. The things that are 'in' are generally far more expensive and difficult to obtain than the things that are 'out'.
I mean, apart from anything else, it varies historically (with time), geographically, and between socio-economic groups.
I buy according to quality (i.e. whether it will last, wash etc.), function (must be fit for purpose), fit (mustn't be so tight it busts when I bend over or so loose it falls down), and price (I generally buy the cheapest stuff but not always).
And I only buy when I actually need to replace something, because it's bust, or I've lost it, or whatever.
