Take no notice, Sm4sh; Mr W specialises in negativity .... He even slagged off my choice of erotic underwear !

Have a great time, and please post a report when you get back to help everyone else.

Sm4sh,
The original poster (Rc132) has already had a horrible holiday in Bulgaria (Pamporovo) and I don't think they're very keen on going back to Bulgaria, even if they switch to Borovets.

I rather think they want to try another country :D

And as for a Goldilocks resort for beginners - I'm pretty sure that the perfect resort doesn't exist. They will all have their downsides as well as their upsides.

If it was me I would look through the bargain holidays with the TO's and find one suitable for beginners with the cheap all inclusive learn to ski package, rather than try to pick the perfect resort and then try to find a reasonably priced package holiday going there.

Most resorts are okay for beginners, but I would try and find one where the accommodation is near the ski school meeting place and the ski hire shop, the nursery slopes are close by, and there are some nice green or easy blue sheltered tree lined runs.

Niederau sounds perfect to me (not that I've ever been there)
