I'm sure
Nearest is a dryslope about half an hour away. It was ok to get a pair of skis back on and get the feel of it but nothing like having the option of going proper skiing if you live close to snowy mountains. Seems a little hit or miss in Scotland in the sense that if there's a good dump of snow the roads may make it difficult to get there. Not so much of a problem if you're in the area anyway.

Thanks Dave.
I'll look into Edale.
Jan 2010 I got a few days in Lyme park....a couple of small jumps at the bottom of the hill was nice :)
Cheers :-)
Bandit! By now, you should know I don't do respect.
Such people do things like cross match their ski clothing, wear bobble hats, comment knowingly on places they haven't skied, go glitzy with choices of resort, don't really get skiing, but do the posing thing well, and generally can't ski for toffee.
I walked and carried.

I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

Nanook, also check out Yad Moss for more lift served UK skiing. Currently the access road is blocked, but it would have been open tomorrow!

Nanook, I hail from Manchester, and we used to ski at Ford Hall, Edale, using a rope tow. I have no idea if that still operates.....
Also, skied in Lyme Park, on sevral Derbyshire hills, Cross Fell in the Lakes, all walking and carrying.....

Dave Mac, to get the necessary "respect" I do think you need to use the appropriate lingo. So none of the "walking and carrying" stuff, when in fact you were hiking for your turns, Geddit )
