:-)Dave, You've obviously done this routine many times before, so I will wind my neck in :wink: However, a good quality head torch sounds good for your Christmas present list. Anybody on J2ski done any research in relation to an affordable high powered head torch suitable for a night time dabble?

Emma, Thats a big one :wink: This is one occasion when it would be of benefit to have something a little bit more compact. Who wants to look like an elephant coming down the mountain :lol:

The head fishing torch is likely to be too weak. I think they do a head lamp with an exernal battery pack that give off a powerful light. This is used for shooting. I will do a bit of research and get back.

We bought from petzl a couple of years back,dont use them for downhill, but when out late on our xcountrys stop at refuge (just a shed with a stove in)light fire, watch the sun set then set off back.
It takes your breath away sliding through the meadows and forest under the light of the moon.

With two halogen lamps of 10 and 20W switchable. It should provide a reasonable light so you don't bump into any brown bears on the way down the mountain. :D
