Some of the group are skin flints so even if they dont want the lessons i will.

thanks nyck

Well done mate, if you have a week of lessons normally you should be tackling reds by week end 8)

I'll second that.

Lessons aren't cheap but neither are ski hols. Doesn't make sense to spend all that money and then spoil it. It sucks big time being stuck on a mountain - not fun

Nyck you're doing the right thing. Even if you're the only one in your group who has them, the others'll soon catch on when you're leaping ahead of them  They'll be whipping their credit cards out quicker than... a rat up a drainpipe. (There are so many better 'quicker than' comparisons, I'm just not sure where the boundaries of acceptability are here yet!)
I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

The drive is about 6 and half minutes since the new tunnel opened. You can book a 4 hour ''Andorra Explorer " lesson in the Soldeu Ski school for smallish money which will take you round the world. You need to be able to ski gentle reds ideally. Maybe a couple of lessons and some milage before this would be a good idea.

Driving from Pas to Soldeu you have a choice of going over the top, which can get very tricky if it snows, or through the Tunnel d'Envalira which costs about €6 each way. The tunnel knocks about 10 minutes off the journey time.

You can pay for the underground car park, but there's a free car park just past the gondola building on the left coming from Pas which has an access to the building, then another very small car park on the right just by the bus stop.

Before you decide on Borovets check out some of the J2ski threads, I think it may just put you off.

Hi Nyck.
The answer as I see it is stay in Soldeu as I have for the last 10 years now.
The resort is a little quieter at night than Pas but offers better skiing.
Pas snow is normaly very icy and the ski school in Soldeu is the best I have ever experienced across Europe.
When you and your group are more experienced then you can ski back towards Pas and enjoy a fab run back to soldeu.
Theres even a ski instructor band that are a scream.
I hope these comments are more helpfull and if you need any more advice email me.
