I have never skied in Slovenia, or even visited the country for that matter so I haven't really looked into it much before.

Crystal go there and as far as i'm aware, anywhere which the larger tour operators offer holidays to must be reliable - Don't take my word for it though!

From what I have seen in the photos and reading about the resorts, it looks and sounds beautiful.

Anybody out there with experience skiing Slovenia?
Skiing: the art of catching cold and going broke while rapidly heading nowhere at great personal risk.

I would definately get a couple of lessons before you go like Baillie said, just to get a couple of main 'essentials' really. It will help you when you get out there rather than struggling to keep up and learn from someone else.

Perhaps we are too use to the expensive prices in ski resorts and when we see a bar little cheaper it is a bargain !!! but alas it is all expensive and we are being ripped off

Hello Les - apart from trying to find a bargain, it seems to be more important to find somewhere suitable for your party of mixed ability? Are you likely to be the only beginner? Resorts which have proved successful for us in the past with anything up to 12 skiers/boarders in the party from teenagers up to over fifties, have been Alpe d'Huez and La Plagne/Les Arcs in France but particularly Madonna di Campiglio.Folgarida/Marilleva in the Italian Dolomites.

Can't understand Mrs. Les preferring a sun/beach holiday over skiing!
