I have just e-mailed by son-in-law as he is also 6ft 5in to find out what make his salopettes are. However, he and my daughter are out shopping for more ski wear at the moment so the reply may take some time! )
Pabs, now there was me thinking you were a D2B kinda guy

As mentioned, it depends a lot on your own holiday preference. We've done hotel, catered chalet and self-catered apartment and personally, we much prefer the self-catered apartment. Initially, it was a cost thing but for some years now, we've always gone self-catered apartment, as we like having our own living space to relax in and we can always go out to eat. Frankly, sharing our annual holiday with a bunch of strangers is not our scene. However, if you're naturally gregarious and hate cooking or don't want to have to go out once you're warm indoors, then hotel or chalet may be a better bet.

hmmm...difficult one. I have done self catering, and hotel (b&b and half board) and would have to say my favourite has been half board hotel. That way you dont have to sit down to dinner with strangers (as in catered chalet unless you have a big enough group to take the whole chalet), but you still get the benefit of all meals being cooked etc. The facilities a hotel can offer are also generally a bit better (its always good having a pool, steam room etc to chill in at the end of a day on the piste).
WHatever you end up going for, i'm sure you will have a great time and wonder why it has been 10 years since you last went!

Personally I couldn't think of anything worse than getting back from a hard day on the slopes and then having to cook and wash up! Obviously there's the option of eating out but going for half board would be a cheaper option.

That's the great thing, we all like different things. I would never describe myself as gregarious by any stretch of the imagination, but I love the chalet holiday. It's just like sitting down with a whole bunch of like minded people.............kinda same as on here. It's really sociable and suits me.

P.S. If anyone can recommend some very long fitting snowboard pants that would be great. I'm 6ft 5" tall, so will need some in the region of a 36" inside leg. Yes, I am a freak!
It's a long shot - but have you looked in TKMAXX who often have quite a bit of reasonably priced decent snow clothing?

I had a look at some D2B stuff today, I don't think I would buy it but seemed like reasonable quality for the money you are paying.
