The 'style' of skiing will definitely continue to evolve (maybe to adopt the growing trend of fatter skis) so it will probably be considered 'old school' then.

It's a technique that predates the era of modern carving skis which have introduced a wider stance, however the narrow stance is still a valid technique for moguls etc where it's difficult to turn with a wide stance (which has one ski on top of the mogul & the other lower down), the narrow stance allows you to turn more easily on top of the mogul.
The bilateral teapot arm stance is/was a very French ski instructor posture. Not sure if it has a name.

Could it be as simple as the 'tuck' position?

Isn't the tuck position something you do off a diving board or trampoline?

Tuck position usually has a wide or very wide stance. Could be the "park rat tuck" - sitting on haunches, with skis together :lol:
