Good news for skiers using BA...

Considering BA is already struggling financially I wonder if the added damage caused by a strike over the xmas period might result in more redundancies or even worse, no jobs to go back to at all if BA sink completely.
Looks like you have fallen for exactly what the media want you to fall for..... nasty BA people going on strike when they earn big salaries, the greedy so and so.....DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE
Average starting salary for a cabin crew member is £14,000 + allowances + Perks. BA starting salary is £16,000 + allowances + perks.
I think the £11,000 is the salary when training.
I know two air hostesses, one of whom works for BA, and they get extremely generous expenses and love their lifestyle. I actually remember a friend from my childhood whose private education was funded by her mother's income as a senior BA cabin crew member.
We all come across rank situations that we want to do something about during our lifetimes. However, I could never knowingly do something that had a negative impact on someone elses life. Do as you want to be done by is my motto.
I totally agree with this sentiment, Caron-a, :D :D

No it's not, that's just silly. I get all my expenses paid when I'm working, all the accommodation, transport, food, insurance, medical expenses and a certain amount of kit, not a single bit of that pays the mortgage, or the costs of owning a house, or a pension. Not that I assume the costs of owning a house are much of an issue for anyone earning £11k a year.

We had this conversation today...Controversial or not, but if it was my Company, I would be doing whatever it took to keep as many people employed as I could. And for anyone to be taking union action over pay, during this financial crisis, is, in my very little humble opinion....!, very insulting to those who have lost jobs and are struggling to get re employed....Meanwhile, I hope all of you who have BA flights booked, manage to get looked after, and have great trips!!!!
A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office !

BA cabin crew start on £11k pa. I dont call that good salary.snowb4ndit wrote:I may be mis-informed but I was under the impression that the cabin crew are on a good salary compared to other airlines and that they are due for a payrise. The strike is/was about changing terms and conditions so to call a strike over the christmas period imo makes the cabin crew ars**les. :|

I'd like to know what expenses are. 11k is a decent amount of money if you are spending half your time all expenses paid in a hotel ;)
