Ummmmmm...he might have a few problems with the chalet owners on his departure, unless he takes some polyfiller and a tin of paint with him too. :lol:

I was guessing that it was his chalet, as most chalets that I have stayed have there own ski lockers 8)
The link I have posted above is the normal one I see in chalets, or there is always a locked cupboard normally in the garage 8)

I am kind of misunderstanding what you want here. You want to buy a ski storage locker and take it with you to a rented chalet. A little mistrusting arent you? )

You could adapt a suitably sized lockable topbox so that you can run a chain through it and secure it round a post or such. Then give all your party keys for the box so they can store the Skis on return.
That shouldn't look too bad, just not sure just how secure it may be, I guess you would need to buy a very well built topbox.
