Ummm it is not the newer one with the split tail, it was only really bought for a laff but i reackon i can master it.

But by the looks of all of the vidios online it is only really good for carving. will have to give it another go on the dry slope.

The split tail is unusual. Mostly splitails are used in powder, but Sims built some split tail carving snowboards years ago that were awesome. The split tail on a carving board allows a longer edge contact length, while achieving an effectively smaller radius sidecut.

The determining factor in whether your monoboard will be easy to carve on, is the sidecut radius.
If the radius is over twenty metres, I wouldn't hold out much hope. But good luck.

I was the first in the UK to buy one from Coda (When it was known as a Yamatool back in 2007) and i love it.

I also have a 187cm Duret 'Mountain' and 2 'Pintails' in my Monoski Quiver.

Man, is a bi-ped.

Although you can now carve a monoski, to me it is still looks very inefficient. As I said before, all the disadvantages of both skiing and snowboarding. As far as knees go on a single board you need both bindings to release simultaneously or not at all. That why there's never been a releasable binding for snowboards (that was safe anyway). That said, whatever it takes to have fun meets the "justifiable" standard, and it's a bit better than some other niche snow sports :wink:
