First ski trip, flying into Geneva in Feb half term

I think you'd be better off in a self contained resort like Flaine or Aroriaz to be honest. Never skied any of them myself, but what I know of Chamonix is its a unique place for good skiers but quite spread out.
Avoriaz might be perfect for you as its ski in and out to most property, and its close to Geneva too.
You also dont need a lift pass for beginners in Flaine which might be useful???

Avoriaz is great for the skiing very french with minimul nightlife.
Basic accomadation and no room for a jacuzzi!!!

Did someone call, LGb, may have been there a couple of times, good beginner area, good ESf ski school and reasonable priced, a weeks lift pass is still around €130, plenty of self catering
accommodation although you do get a few English voices most normally depart back to La Clusaz in the afternoon. 8)
