If you live in Birmingham, as we do, then try Swiss Air. They are fantastic and can fly you to other resorts. We love France but hate skiing in France, so it's always Austria for us. Swissair is also free to carry skis and boots! We just get car hire when we get there. Good luck

We had a great time in St. Gervais in January & are going back for Christmas (hope it's not too early for the snow).
The plan is.... there's no plan!

I was their for Crimbo this year and it was fantastic. Quite slopes, warm and bright sunshine.

Megève is easy and well connected good for children and nice aprés ski.

I would go for Les Gets in the PDS. I see Morzine has been reccommended to. Les Gets is within the same huge Ski area, but in my opinon is a much nicer Alpine village.
