Would probably be a bit crude but it could work (I guess). Maybe the North Atlantic oscillation would give you something to go on...
Steve, thats a very impressive set of readings, but would need guidance. We need confirmation that a strong El Nino means warm effects. Are you a relation of Michael Fish? Did you just find the website, or do you know stuff?
The peaks, midpeaks, positive and negative are very clear. We just need to affirm what they represent.
For guidance, from January 1972 to April 1972 there was a scarcity of snow.

I'm trying not to get paranoid but I'm planning on going to Scheffau, Austria in January which is not very high. Do any of you hardcore weather geeks know if it being an El Nino year will affect the snow? I tried googling but I got totally bamboozled with science.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Nobody really knows the effects of El Nino on Europe.

Do you know when the El Nino years were Pablo? We could then correlate with bad snow years.

Here are the El Nino years and their intesity:

I've only been skiing for 3 seasons and one of those was Romania so don't have enough knowledge to know good or bad years.

A strong el Nino can mean different things for the US, cold and dry in some areas, warm an wet in others so I think it would be difficult to draw comparison.
