Half term is not likely to coincide with any US holidays or school breaks. So that may be a good time for flights and slopes. Schools and colleges here, do have "spring break" but this varies around the country, so not everyone at the same time (equivalent to UK Easter holidays). Most people do not go skiing for spring break, but head south to warmer climes. Spring Break normally falls around the end of March to mid April. Third Monday in Feb is Presidents Day, so a busy three day weekend. Easter doesn't even mean a day off for most people in the US.

Ok, I am going to raise this one again. Unless you are a teacher, you don't HAVE to go in school holidays. If you are, my apologies! However, you are restricting yourself to where you can go big time, and also the price hikes for Easter are nothing short of mickey taking. Avoid school holidays if you can, and then reconsider Europe.

Yes I am a teacher, so no choice unfortunately!!

Hi Serendipity

We have skied Europe for the last 5 years and thought we would try Canada for 2010, We are intermiedatte skier who prefer the long green/blue runs to enjoy and not to race down as fast as we can, We have booked Jasper inn Jasper Canada, We have to travel on a bus to get to the slopes but i hear it will be worth it, picked up a great deal as well for 2 weeks comparing it with europe there was not much difference in the price.

hope this helps

Oh well. We all have a cross to bear. Looks like you need to focus on your summer holidays or unfortunately suffer the high prices of school holiday times for skiing I am afraid.
