Zermatt. Sit on the right hand side of the Rack & Pinion train, facing forward, on the way up to Zermatt. My first view of the Matterhorn still lives with me, some 30 umpteen years ago. Have been back twice since.
It is even better higher up. There is no better backdrop to ski alongside. No, not even in N.
Choose a hotel with a view of the Matterhorn, and buy some bottles of wine, to help pass the evening light.
Saas Fee is pleasant, comfortable, enjoyable. Zermatt, with the Matterhorn is magic.
You had better get on with it then Whickers.
Skiing Zermatt, I mean, not dieing.

Hi Mikei
I have skiied Saas Fee for the last 3 years. It is a great resort. But not particularly lively at night. It's a car free resort and I found the parking for a week quite pricey, not to mention coming back to the car a week later to find someone had dragged a toboggan along the side of it. Last year we took the train from Geneva, and then the post bus up to the resort. I would definatly recommend this. Each mode of transport was clean and more importantly on time!!!! You do need to book the train in advance and the return bus needs to be booked in resort to make sure you get a seat. But not as ardious as it sounds.
Give it a go!!!
