Cheers Ise for the info, it was only when i read an article in a sunday paper at the time that i found out about the required Hi-Viz jacket, until then I had seen nothing in the press iether here or abroad, it's probably one of the only good things to come out of Brussels......shame it's only cost us about £600 Billion in payments to the EU : :(

Jon.

On catching the ferry from Dover, we were pre warned with all the information. We were advised to have the hi-vis jacket visible while driving too.

was meant to be in force from June 2008 I think.

Whilst on a summer holiday the general concensus amongst locals and expats was that you had to have at least two jackets (even if your in the car on your own) and they should be visible from the outside of the car - hence most people fitted them to the back of the driver and passenger seats.

Maybe the jacket per passenger rule only applies to those driving BMWs!!
