On the subject of quizzes, I've just finished cleaning the farmhouse for our visitors. I was an hour late, and they arrived on time so they had to sit there while we cleaned around them.

I just hope I don't get any complaints about this. They seem nice people.

Sorry, I'm not doing any quizzes. I'm too tired. I've had very little sleep all week because all I've been doing is painting and cleaning etc.

At least you nearly got it, I wouldn't be so fussed over an hour.

Arrived at our accomodation in Cornwall, a converted chapel, me and four ladies.

Harrassed lady, cleaning like fury, clearly well behind. "Apologies" says she, "Looks like this was a load of students here last week, it's taking twice as long."

"No worries", says I, "We'll help". Had it finished in no time, then opened a bottle of red.

One hour later, a pretty pished cleaning lady.

Result, innit?

Bringing it back to the thread, questionaire took just 3/4 minutes. Skipped the question on income, figured that was not a lot to do with ski gloves.

Not sure if it is too early yet to start looking for the postman.

Dave,
Taking it away from the thread again - my speciality it seems  - that was very kind of you to help the poor cleaning lady.

They don't really give us long enough to get the places cleaned in between lets. With our agency we only have between 10 a.m and 3 p.m., and if it's very dirty it's practically impossible to get it done in the time. I could really do with an extra half a person to use in cases of emergency. What I usually do is ask my daughter to give me a hand for an hour or so.

My problem yesterday was that I couldn't get rid of the builders. The carpenter was here the day before re-making a sash window and doing shelves, and he even wanted to come the same day as the holidaymakers to put weights and sashes in 3 of the windows, but I said 'no' that was too much, and I'd just tell them not to open those windows unless they did it very carefully or they'd get their fingers chopped off.

My daughter was in school (Friday changeover day) and my husband has hurt his back carrying stuff for me, and luckily I was rescued by my daughter's friend's mother, after I sent out an S.O.S. message. Or I would have been about 4 hours late finishing.

Congratulations to everyone who tried to do this particular quiz. It sounds very difficult.
